Writer Ernestine Shaankaláx̱t’ Hayes awarded $50,000 from United States Artists fellowship

Ernestine Shaankaláx̱t’ Hayes’s house caught fire in 2018. That put her writing on hold while she spent countless hours negotiating with contractors and insurance. She says the fellowship she was awarded last week allows her to get back to writing.
