It appears there is another major Xbox Live outage, which is preventing players from getting online in Xbox 360 and backwards compatible games.
If you fired up your Xbox 360 or a backwards compatible game on your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One and haven't been able to get online, you're not alone. Over the past several days, we have seen reports from players suggesting there is an Xbox Live outage for Xbox 360 and backwards compatible games.
Players are also reporting they're unable to get online in backwards compatible 360 games on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. As it stands, Xbox Support is yet to acknowledge the problem, with the Xbox Status page claiming that all Xbox features and functionality are up and running without issue. We have seen this issue several times over the past year or so, and it doesn't usually take long for Microsoft to get things back up and running.
