Sydney FC's Asian Champions League campaign has begun with disaster after they were thrashed 4-0 by Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama F Marinos away from home | SMHsport

Sydney FC's Asian Champions League campaign has begun with disaster after they were thrashed 4-0 by Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama F Marinos away from home.

That combination left Sydney with no response, only the humbling of coach Steve Corica who suffered a record equalling defeat in his coaching career."We weren't good enough today, no doubt about that. Especially the first half, we didn't keep the ball well enough," Sydney FC captain Alex Wilkinson said. "They pressed really well and we didn't deal with it well enough, I thought we were a little bit rusty.

From then, there was only one outcome to this match. Sydney could barely interrupt Yokahama's stream of possession let alone tilt the tide and after half an hour, were down by two.
