Yosemite National Park closed Saturday morning, and will remain closed through Wednesday, Mar. 1 “due to severe winter conditions,” as the storm that caused this week’s snowy conditions in the Bay Area moves east.
The NPS posted the update on the park’s website, which also shows a live webcam from Yosemite Falls, a snow-covered evergreen tree in the foreground, and whiteout snow conditions in the background. It’s not the first time that heavy snowfall and storms have closed access to the park. On Feb. 5, 2019, the park was closed after four days of heavy snow made the roads in and out of the valley impassable., the immense 3,000-foot tall granite monolith on the north side of Yosemite Valley.
