The relationship between Yoshi’s Jazz Club co-founder Yoshie Akiba and her business partners has hit a sour note.
The co-founder and longtime owner of Yoshi’s Jazz Club in Oakland has sued her business partners, alleging an “egregious, years-long campaign to wrest control” of the business from her, according to a lawsuit filed Dec. 21 in Alameda County Superior Court.
Kajimura, Campos and Holland were not immediately available for comment on Tuesday morning. No formal response to the complaint has been filed in Alameda County Superior Court. Akiba alleges in her lawsuit that Campos took advantage of the founding couple’s age while Kajimura took advantage of decades of friendship to allegedly siphon funds.
