A three-bedroom unit in Glen Huntly flew $301,000 above reserve.82 Sackville StreetThe auction was one of 644 scheduled across Melbourne on Saturday. By evening, Domain Group reported a preliminary clearance rate of 75.5 per cent, after 490 results were reported and 32 auctions withdrawn. Withdrawn auctions are counted as unsold properties as part of the clearance rate.
The underbidders were a pair of sisters, while the parties interested in the property included downsizers and young couples. The winner was a young woman who planned to move in with her partner, while the underbidders were looking to downsize.
