AFL: Collingwood's Dan Houston will remain as the Pie's choice half-back.

Melbourne have been dealt a cruel double injury blow a week and a half out from their first pre-season outing of 2025, with a star on-baller amid concerns.

The 30-year-old’s scans revealed damage to his rib cartilage, which has already ruled him out of the Demons’ intra-club match in the coming days.It leaves the former co-captain in a slight race against the clock to prove himself fit for next weekend’s pre-season hit out against North Melbourne at Arden Street, however the club are hopeful he will put his best foot forward for the match.

The 21-year-old will undergo scans on his right hamstring later this afternoon, with High Performance GM Alan Richardson hoping that “it’s not significant,” via a club statement.
