A 28-year-old man killed in a hit and run in Sydney’s east on Sunday morning has been identified.

Emergency crews were called to the street after Mr East was found critically injured. CPR was performed but the 28-year-old died at the scene. “We hope anyone with information or who has been involved in any way, we urge them to come forward and contact Waverly Police or Crime Stoppers.”He studied law at the University of Otago before attending Harvard for his Masters. Notably, Mr East worked as a senior advisor on the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Christchurch mass shooting.
