A social media backlash has forced a Young Liberals branch to delete a racist video overnight.
The chair of the Gold Coast Young Liberals has confirmed he appeared in a racially offensive video posted to a social media platform on the weekend and removed overnight.
The video showed young LNP member and chair of the Gold Coast branch, Barclay McGain, openly laughing at racist remarks made by young LNP volunteer, Jake Scott, in the Surfers Paradise mall during Schoolies.“Personally I’m fed up with having all of these sports stars stand out on our stages and not sing the national anthem.,” replied Mr Scott.“I mean, we’ve got to stop celebrating a culture that couldn’t even invent the bloody wheel for god’s sake.
