Millions of broadband and phone customers are bracing for the bills to increase more than 10 per cent this April, prompting many to haggle with their providers for cheaper deals.
Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at Uswitch, said these increases will hit 35 million mobile and broadband customers. But the research also shows that in many cases, switching to a new provider might be more effective than haggling with your existing provider. Smaller providers, meanwhile, will be less likely to be able to pass on savings and will have more rigid price structures.
