Today's weather makes ripe conditions for fire weather in some parts of Southern California.
We're looking at highs in the low 80s for downtown L.A. and the San Gabriel valley, in the 90s for the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys.Along the coast, temperatures are staying cool in the mid 70s up to 79 in Long Beach with low clouds through the morning.
More inland, temperatures are still in the low 90s, in the high 80s in Orange County. The high deserts are being spared the scorching temperatures, with temperatures reaching the upper 80s. But in Coachella Valley, it will get up to 104.Taking a look ahead: Tomorrow we start to see a cool down with temperatures dropping 2 to 5 degrees and even more for the weekend. There's a chance of rain on Saturday evening. It'll feel like late November weather instead.
And the weather is making for ripe fire weather conditions, especially in Santa Barbara and the I-5 corridor. The National Weather Service has issued a fire watch starting at 9 a.m. today until Thursday 5 a.m. .On this day in 1939, it was 30 degrees in Victorville, the lowest temperature recorded for the area.Give yourself a hug because we made it to the middle of the week.
