My beef is with the commercials. They used to explain a problem and how good a product was at alleviating that problem. Not anymore. Now they resort to illustrating the problem, be it a normal monthly activity, a daily leakage or a bedroom activity . Ad agencies graphically depict the problem: Pouring a tinted liquid on a feminine product or showing men and women in their unmentionables. But the worst offender depicts a male dysfunction with a bent cucumber.
Then there are the furniture ads with a model, actress or dancer prancing around the furniture. Instead, tell us about the quality of the furniture and the variety of materials and colors.Puro PoliticsPlease explain to San Antonio homeowners how our taxes went up almost 25 percent and yet our City Council gave many millions in tax abatements awhile back to the Spurs for their new facility, and now millions to the DeLorean car company while raising our taxes.
This is ridiculous; our City Council should be on the homeowners’ side. Make the big corporations pay their share. If not, we should get new honest politicians, if there is such a thing.
