Zali Steggall says donations met electoral guidelines | AngusGthompson
Independent MP Zali Steggall says she did not fail to declare eight donations from a family trust headed by RAMS home loans founder and coal investor John Kinghorn, saying she acted in accordance with electoral funding guidelines.
Warringah MP Zali Steggall says the donations were disclosed in accordance with electoral requirements. The Warringah MP has released a statement this morning saying it was incorrect to assert she failed to declare what she had received. The full amount of the Kinghorn donation had been split into eight separate donations of $12,500 from Kinghorn family members, each of them falling under the minimum amount required to be disclosed.“So the return was corrected in 2021 to reflect that. The money donated was at all times disclosed,” she said.
