Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with former US President Donald Trump in New York on Wednesday, seeking to mend ties between the two leaders. During the meeting, Trump highlighted his relationship with both Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggesting he could help resolve the ongoing war in Ukraine.

In his opening remarks, Trump thanked Zelenskyy for what he said was his support during that scandal. “One of the reasons we won it so easily is that when he was asked … he could have grandstanded and played cute, and he didn’t do that,” Trump said. “He said President Trump did absolutely nothing wrong. He said it loud and clear, and the impeachment hoax died right there.”
“It has to end,” Trump said of the war in Ukraine. “At some point, it has to end. gone through hell. This country has gone through hell like few countries have ever… Nobody’s ever seen anything like it.” “These proposals are the same as those of Putin, and let us be clear, they are not proposals for peace,” Harris said. “Instead, they are proposals for surrender, which is dangerous and unacceptable.”
He added: “Any deal – the worst deal – would’ve been better than what we have now. If they made a bad deal it would’ve been much better. They would’ve given up a little bit and everybody would be living and every building would be built and every tower would be aging for another 2,000 years … What deal can we make? It’s demolished. The people are dead. The country is in rubble.
