On Tuesday morning, the 57-year-old expressed her excitement for her upcoming concert at the AFL grand final, saying it could be her biggest career highlight, having turned down several previous requests due to preferring night performances and the difficulty of playing during the 2.30pm start time.

“I’m so nervous, even just when you introduced it like that. It’s going to be a moment,” she told Nat Barr. Minogue has turned the AFL down several times when asked to perform at the grand final, and there had been a view that it was because she preferred to play her shows at night, which is impossible with a 2.30pm start time.

It comes as Netflix is set to air a three-part docuseries on the rollercoaster life and career of Minogue. “There’s a lot to do. And I don’t know how to prepare myself for 90,000-plus people in Melbourne at the centre of the MCG on grand final day. She admitted the process to put the documentary together was an emotional one.

“I was literally in the edit suite, on the edge of my seat, then the tears came, then the, like, guffaw, belly laughs. It’s a ride,” Minogue said.
