Reflective stickers and new signs have been installed at the site of cyclist Graham Forte's fatal crash, but his wife Jane wants more done to prevent future accidents.
Graham Forte , 66, died after cycling into a metal railing at the end of a path in Albany.Mr Forte's widow Jane is taking civil action against the City of Albany over her husband's death.
Ms Forte said the grey railing he hit was camouflaged against the concrete and bitumen of a car park at the end of the path.The City of Albany manages the area where the incident occurred and Ms Forte is taking the local government to court over the death in a bid to prevent further crashes. Ms Forte said the combination of black tarmac, grey curbing and posts made the metal railing nearly invisible.Condition worsens
"Thursday morning his life ended ... as a result there are three successful body parts being transplanted and donated to other people.""A young man basically did the same thing on a scooter, he was off work for a period of time," she said.Ms Forte believed the accident was not reported, and the victim felt upset because they had not taken action.The City of Albany's chief executive Andrew Sharpe said it was unable to provide comment.
