It found 39 per cent of drivers surveyed admitted to breaking the law on regional roads as they believed it was safe to do so. The 16-year-old was in the car with his mother Jessica Rooney when they were hit by an out-of-control vehicle and she was killed in Coffs Harbour 18 months ago.Jarwin — together with emergency services, the foundation and the advocacy group Road Trauma Support Group NSW — spoke at the launch to implore drivers to think of others when behind the wheel.'Far too much loss'Mr Rooney hoped the research findings would encourage other drivers to be safer behind the wheel.
