The future of a major housing development is back in local government hands after a decision to reverse plans by the former state government giving it the go-ahead.

But new Housing Minister, Sam O'Connor, last week announced the recently elected LNP government would reverse that move, allowing the council to scrap the temporary local planning instrument.It has effectively put the decision to approve or reject the housing proposal back in the council's hands, prompting a vote on the matter that is set to take place a special meeting on Tuesday.
