AFL: Christian Petracca has conceded his AFL season is over in a massive blow to Melbourne's finals hopes.
Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has warned against ill-informed scrutiny of club medical staff in the wake of Melbourne star Christian Petracca ’s season-ending injuries and says players will always be asked to push through the pain barrier with only head knocks a black and white doctor’s call.
On Friday, Beveridge said the AFL community should be “careful of how we scrutinise our medical practitioners”, adamant staff at all clubs did an “unbelievable job”. “I’d hate to think we are questioning that. Will they get it right all time? Maybe not, but I think we need to have faith and trust.” “Head knocks, totally medical call, anything else there has to be a collaboration between the player and the staff.”
