NFL: The Philadelphia Eagles have been booed of the field by their own fans, after a shock loss to Kirk Cousins' Atlanta Falcons.
The Philadelphia Eagles will rue a late coaching blunder and a dropped catch from a star recruit as they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in an upset 22-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday .
Instead of trying to gain the required three yards on the ground, which would have kept the clock running given Atlanta had no time outs, Philadelphia attempted a pass play to gain the yardage. That stopped the clock with 1:39 left at 4 and 3. The Eagles had another chance to ice the game had they gone for it and picked up the necessary three yards, but coach Nick Sirianni elected to send the field goal team out.
An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against London resulted in the extra point attempt being moved back 15 yards, but kicker Younghoe Koo coolly slotted the conversion to give Atlanta a 22-21 lead.
