Assistant Education and Regional Development Minister Anthony Chisholm says new funding to upgrade government schools is an “opportunity to modernise”. The Albanese government’s School Upgrade Fund will provide $215.8 million in funding and be targeted at schools in lower socioeconomic areas and with a high percentage of First Nations students. “We’re working in conjunction with state governments to ensure that the funding gets to those schools that are most in need,” Mr Chisholm told Sky News Australia.
