With summer in full swing, many Australians will be cooling off by the beach. But an underwater danger may be lurking nearby — a rip.
This summer so far, 48 people have drowned in Australia's waterways — 16 of those at the beach.Chances are that unless you're a skilled lifesaver or an experienced surfer, you'd prefer not to play a game of chance with one.The results can be anywhere from frightening to fatal.
