A woman whose 17-year-old sister was stabbed to death in a violent attack almost 10 years ago has issued a gut-wrenching plea to prevent knife attacks as she expressed her sympathy to the families of the Bondi Junction victims.Nadja Vukotic's 17-year-old sister, Masa Vukotic, was out for a walk near her family home in Doncaster, Melbourne’s south-east, in March 2015 when she was killed by Sean Christian Price in a violent assault that sparked national outrage. Price, who had previously been imprisoned multiple times for violent and sexual offences, including rape and assault, told police he got a “rush” out of attacking women and just hours after killing Maya made his way to a nearby bookstore where he raped another woman. Nadja issued her emotional plea to social media following the Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing attack, which claimed six lives and left 12 others injured. Five of the six victims killed were women, and eight of the 12 hospitalised in the aftermath of the attack were also understood to be female. "My heart goes out so much to the people of Sydney, and the victims of the families or just victims in general, anyone who has lost a woman or just a person to knife violence," Ms Vukotic said in a video. Queensland man Joel Cauchi fatally knifed five shoppers at the Bondi Junction complex - new mum Ash Good, 38, Dawn Singleton, 25, mum and architect Jade Young, 47, Georgian woman Pikria Darchia, 55, Chinese national and student Cheng Yixuan, 25 - and on-duty Westfield security guard Faraz Tahir, 25. NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said while the attacker's motives were being investigated, it was"obvious" to her that he was targeting women. Cauchi’s distraught dad told reporters his son was “frustrated out of his brain” because he couldn’t get a girlfriend when asked why he appeared to target women.
