Dating back to the 1870s, the Iron Horse was previously called The Empire Bar and was often packed to the gunnels before and after shows.Cafe Cini Renfield Street's Cafe Cini was another city centre establishment that was a popular meeting place for generations of Glaswegians. Opened in the 1960s, the café and bar, which was latterly owned by former footballer Charlie Nicholas, thrived for decades before closing permanently in the 2000s.
