GRITTY Glasgow cop drama Taggart made stars of its leading actors Mark McManus, Blythe Duff, Colin McCredie and more.

Most famous for her roles in Scot Squad and Balamory, Julie was also part of the Taggart cast back in 2008 for an episode called Point of Light.Acting heavyweight Robert played an ambitious politician who wanted to bring back capital punishment, in the 1990 story Hostile Witness.Long before he became the legendary Boaby the barman in Still Game, Gavin Mitchell appeared in a 2002 episode called Fire, Burn.

Ewen would go on to become one of the huge stars of Trainspotting, but in Taggart episode Love Knot in 1990, he was playing a young rock climber.Clare, of Gregory’s Girl and Altered Images fame, played Mary Catto in the 1992 story The Hit Man.He went on to play another famous cop in a long-running series , but in 1990, John Hannah starred in Evil Eye, alongside well-kent face, Jill Gascoine.
