Pricing for Geely’s first electric SUV in Australia has been leaked online, showing the new EX5 will undercut most rivals by a significant margin. Industry guide Redbook has published an opening price of $43,490 before on-road costs for the base-spec Geely EX5 Complete, significantly undercutting rivals like the Tesla Model Y and Leapmotor C10 .
Though many products from Geely-owned brands like Volvo, Polestar, and Zeekr are already on sale in Australia, this is the first vehicle from the namesake Geely Auto brand since the small MK was distributed by a third party over a decade ago in Western Australia. The EX5 is launching in Australia with two trim levels but just one drivetrain: a 160kW/320Nm front-mounted electric motor hooked up to a 60.2kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.
