Big changes are coming to Universal Credit from May that will affect parents: here's everything you need to know
The month of May is almost here, which means half term and a spot of sun. And whether it’s ‘Muuuum can I get an ice cream?’ or grass-stained trousers that need replacing, with the changing seasons, there will undoubtedly be more to pay for.
This saw all means-tested benefits, including Universal Credit, rise by 6.7%. However you may not fully notice the change until May. This is because benefits are usually paid in arrears. So, your earlier payments may have spanned both the 23/24 and 24/25 tax years. This is due to the two bank holidays that take place in May – as the DWP does not issue payments on non-working days.
