The 26-year-old from Sydney has reached the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time in his career, setting-up a clash against either the Croatian Borna Coric orCredit:Thompson earned a $343,000 cheque for reaching the last 16 of the US Open after he powered past Kukushkin an emphatic 7-5, 6-4, 6-1 victory.
The 2020 tournament in New York is already the best performance for world No.63, Thompson, in all of his 20 grand slam appearances.
