Aldi is creating around 380 new jobs in Nottinghamshire
Budget supermarket Aldi is bracing itself for the Christmas rush by creating around 380 new jobs in Nottinghamshire. Retailers across the country prepare themselves for the increase in sales ahead of the festive period with many taking on temporary staff. This year Aldi says it is expecting "its biggest-ever Christmas".
The supermarket is looking to fill temporary and permanent store positions in its Nottinghamshire stores. Roles include helping to replenish stock and providing additional assistance to customers. This recruitment drive is a trend across its centres too. The German retailer is currently looking to fill more than 850 roles across its 11 Regional Distribution Centres around the UK for a number of permanent roles, including Warehouse Selectors, Logistics Assistants and Lorry Drivers.Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “This year we’re recruiting more people than ever over the Christmas period to support the growing number of customers that are switching to Aldi.
“Our amazing colleagues play a vital role in keeping our shelves stocked year-round which is why, once again, we’ll also be keeping our stores closed on Boxing Day as a thank you for all of their hard work.” Those taking up the positions can expect to earn a minimum hourly rate of up to £10.50 nationally and £11.95 inside the M25 as Store Assistants. It is also offering paid breaks, which it says is worth more than £830 a year for the average store worker. Applications can be made via www.aldirecruitment.co.uk
