Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she's 'very concerned' about the situation in NSW as communities bordering Queensland are plunged into lockdown.
Ms Palaszczuk is urging residents not to travel to New South Wales as regional areas are at high risk.
"The deputy premier and I will be having a phone call with the mayors to reinforce that nobody should be crossing the border to go into New South Wales at this stage. "They are so effective. Thank you to everyone, every single child at school who is wearing one. You are going to prevent the next outbreak in a school by wearing them. Thank you to the teachers.
