Nationals Leader David Littleproud says Greens Leader Adam Bandt is “irrelevant” as he looks to make a “green utopia” that has no practical reality in the real world.

Mr Bandt has called for a gas and coal moratorium to be introduced, which Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared he would not do.

“There is no way in the world you can get rid of our coal and gas industries here and what Adam doesn’t understand is they pay the bills,” Mr Littlepoud told Sky News Australia. “Not just to the states but also to us at a federal level with income tax and royalties through the states.”
