Mr Morrison was grilled by reporters over his appointment to several high-profile ministries from March 2020 to May 2021 and was repeatedly asked about the role the governor-general played in the saga.“I don’t go into private discussions with the governor-general. “You are asking me to go into conversations between me and the governor-general, which I am not going to do.
“I am simply respecting a long-standing principle and convention that the governor-general and the Prime Minister have many conversations; the governor-general took the advice of the day from the government and acted accordingly.”
