Former deputy chief medical officer Dr Nick Coatsworth says he had no idea in the early months of the pandemic that former prime minister Scott Morrison had been sworn into the health portfolio.
“I had no reason to suspect that there was anyone other than the Health Minister Greg Hunt, that I was reporting to, and there was no suggestion from the prime mister’s office that was any other than that,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“There is the question of secrecy which I think is probably the broader question in the media at the moment. “But … there was no practical impact to the way that we performed our roles as public servants, at least from my perspective.”
