Multiple people have been arrested at Sydney's freedom protest after NSW Police launched a major operation replete with helicopters, traffic checkpoints and riot squads to prevent a repeat performance of the July 24 anti-lockdown antics.
Viral videos posted on social media show police dragging away people in breach of the health orders and questioning others in the Sydney CBD.
NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon warned on Friday people illegally gathering to protest would face a 1400-strong police force with boots on the ground across Sydney. City-bound traffic and public transport have been subjected to police checkpoints and taxi services and other transportation methods are prohibited from taking passengers to the CBD.
