AFL: The AFL CEOs have met to dicuss a possible fixture shakeup in anticipation of the inclusion of Tasmania into the league.
With the AFL in the midst of one of its closest-ever finishes to a home-and-away season , the addition of a wildcard format to the league has been deemed a “no-brainer”.

New to Kayo?The match would in theory take place during the current pre-finals bye, which if applied to this year’s fixture, would be held on August 30 and 31. “There was so much support for this; it hasn’t gone to the AFL commission yet, but I believe this could go to the commission very shortly – even this year, potentially ratified for 2025,” Landsberger begun by saying.“One club CEO at the conference last week pointed out that premierships are already almost impossible to win from seventh or eighth on the ladder, they were against it.”
