A49 reopen as man in 'critical condition' due to serious crash involving two lorries

A man found in 'critical condition' after a two-lorry crash on the A49 was airlifted to hospital.

West Mercia Police confirmed they were dealing with a 'serious' crash yesterday and urged drivers to find an alternative route, while West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered two male patients. One of them was found to be in a critical condition and received specialist trauma care at the scene before being airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
