"I think there have been some areas where we feel we have been let down and we want to take a renewed focus on shaping the ACT Public Service to deliver the priorities that we've taken to the election and indeed priorities that we have been identified across the assembly,'' Mr Barr said.Chris Steel has been promoted to treasurer.Mr Barr and Ms Stephen-Smith ruled out cutting public service jobs as part of the changes.
"I've been involved in government in various ways for a very long time and I am absolutely committed to ensuring that taxpayer's money is used to the best possible effect for the people of the ACT.
City and Government Services Minister Tara Cheyne gains the attorney-general's portfolio, which was previously held by Greens leader Shane Rattenbury. Michael Petterson has also been promoted to cabinet with the portfolios of business, arts and creative industries; children, youth and families; multicultural Affairs; and skills, training and industrial relations.There are no plans to increase the size of the ACT Legislative Asembly.Only two of Labor's 10 MLAs — rookies Caitlin Tough and Taimus Werner-Gibbings — will sit on the backbench.
