An inquest into the death of Canberra man Anthony Caristo, who had a heart attack after being tasered by police in 2017, clears officers of negligence.
The inquest heard Mr Caristo had smeared blood around his home in a "horrific manner".
The inquest heard Mr Caristo stabbed himself in the leg with the knife before being hit with a single taser charge."There are no reasons to make comments or findings critical of the constables," Coroner Stewart said.Coroner recommends AFP review its use of tasers Coroner Stewart said it was also clear Ms Caristo had suffered from mental health issues and was "spiralling" before the incident.
He told the inquest the review should focus on the risk of tasers, the use of negotiators, taser use restrictions, post use medical care and police communication strategies.
