The ACT records an additional 19 COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases across the territory to 121.

The ACT has recorded an additional 19 COVID-19 cases, as a cluster of cases in the disability community is confirmed among the territory's 121 active cases.ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr confirmed this morning that there was also now a cluster linked to the ACT's disability community.

ACT Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith confirmed five disability sector providers were directly affected. Overnight, it was announced that a student at an ANU residential hall, Warrumbul Lodge, had tested positive for COVID-19, but they had been in isolation in a self-contained unit since the onset of Canberra's lockdown.

There are now 15,500 self-identified close contacts in the ACT and 3,640 tests were conducted in the ACT yesterday. In a little over a week, the ACT has gone from zero to more than 100 COVID-19 cases. "We need to be very clear, this broad-brush language of 'open up' should not be taken to mean there will be no public health directions, no public health settings and nothing in place to support the unvaccinated," he said.
