A woman has been rescued from an eight-metre well after trying to save her pet cat in Adelaide's north. 9News

The 20-year-old woman reportedly lowered herself down into the well on a rope ladder to rescue her cat at a property in Gawler West.The woman was rescued from a well after attempting to retrieve her cat.

The woman's two-year-old cat named Comet was pulled out of the well in a zip lock shopping bag by Metropolitan Fire Service crews.
