Federal police have referred information relating to allegations money was wired from the Vatican to Australia in relation to Cardinal George Pell's trial to Victoria's anti-corruption watchdog.Italian media reported allegations that Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu was suspected of wiring $1.14 million to Australia in 2018
Today the Australian Federal Police confirmed it had received "information" from the federal financial crimes regulator AUSTRAC regarding the allegations. The AFP said it was reviewing the information, and had also referred "aspects" of the matter to Victoria's Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission .
