Amid renewed calls from the Opposition, Agriculture Minister Murray Watt has revealed what it would take to close Australia’s border to Indonesia over foot and mouth disease fears.
FMD is a highly contagious disease of livestock causing fever followed by the development of vesicles in the mouth and on the feet.

“We have had a consistent position about this since day one and it’s a consistent position with industry,” Mr Watt told Sky News Australia.
