Since being introduced in October last year, unauthorised parties in Airbnb properties in Australia have dropped by 35 per cent.Because of its success, the pilot program has now been codified into Airbnb's products nationwide. The "anti-party arsenal" detects high-risk guests by measuring a series of factors.
The system considers if a guest has negative reviews or a lack of reviews, the length of time a guest has been using Airbnb, length of the trip, distance to the listening, and weekend or weekday bookings. The "arsenal" identifies red flag guests and stops them from booking an entire home. "Our work to try and stop as many unauthorised parties as possible remains one of our top trust priorities," Airbnb's Country Manager Susan Wheeldon said.
"This is integral to our commitment to our Host community - who respect their neighbours and want no part of the property damage and other issues that came with unauthorised or disruptive parties."Airbnb is a popular holiday rental app.
