Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has replied to the 'weird' and 'quite extraordinary' revelations his predecessor Scott Morrison had secretly sworn himself into multiple positions during his time in office.

Reports by The Australian and News.com.au revealed the former prime minister had assumed the role of health minister at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, before also taking the finance and resources portfolios. "Australians knew during the election campaign that I was running a shadow ministry. What they didn't know was that Scott Morrison was running a shadow government," Mr Albanese said.

"A shadow government that was operating in the shadows. What we have when we get sworn in as ministers is that there's some transparency there.The Labor leader said he would receive briefings from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet"who are seeking advice on this"."I'll be getting a full briefing this afternoon," he said.
