The Prime Minister has delivered a message for 'those people of privilege in Parliament' over the upcoming referendum as he revealed what his 'objective' is for the Voice proposal.
Mr Albanese used a speech in Sydney on Saturday to deliver a message to politicians"of privilege in the Parliament" and outline his objective for the referendum.
"I make this point. For those people of privilege in the Parliament, they are participants not observers," Mr Albanese told the crowd in his Grayndler electorate. "I say to those in positions of political leadership, do not miss this opportunity this time. And I want to make one final point very clearly. This is not about symbolism or practical outcomes," the Prime Minister said.
Mr Albanese delivered an address to the"Inner West BBQ for the Voice to Parliament". Picture: NCA NewsWire / Jeremy Piperhe was open to discussions with the government but further details on the proposal needed to be forthcoming. "We were frank in our assessment: that our belief is that the way in which the Prime Minister has just not been across the detail when it comes to the Voice, or frankly, many other matters," Mr Dutton told reporters on Friday.
