A $7 billion deal has been secured to fund major venues for Brisbane’s 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Media reports have suggested the Woolloongabba stadium will be rebuilt, with an injection of almost $3 billion into it. “[We’re] putting it in place really early to make sure that the Games provide not just a great experience for while it’s on but of course, a lasting legacy for the people of Queensland.”

Sixteen new or upgraded venues, including the Sunshine Coast stadium and the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, would receive roughly $1.9 billion in co-funding on a 50/50 basis between the two levels of government.“The Olympic and Paralympic Games will be fantastic for Brisbane but it will also be good for our national economy,” he said.
