Senior Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese says Labor will fully fund the Royal Commission into the abuse, neglect and exploitation of Australians living with a disability if it is successful at the May federal election.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison officially announced the $527 million commission on Friday, which is expected to run for three years and the final report to be handed down in April 2022. Labor argues there was an underspend in the NDIS by the government, funding Mr Albanese claims was partly used to fund the commission. Mr Albanese says Labor 'supported and called' for the royal commission and has welcomed the government's announcement.
