Anthony Albanese and his partner Jodie Haydon went kayaking, attended an art exhibition and dined at a lavish restaurant during the Prime Minister's first holiday since winning the top job back in May.

The Prime Minister enjoyed his first break in the top job by taking leave from August 6 to 14 and travelling on Australian soil.

I've been there for both work and pleasure in the past,” Mr Albanese told NOVA 93.7 FM on Wednesday morning. "The sniper kayak. Very important on the water," the host replied, to which Mr Albanese said:"Absolutely. It was that it was their job to protect me from sharks".

He also used the holiday to spend some romantic one-on-one time with his partner Jodie, with the couple dining at the fancy Sydney Cove Oyster Bar at Cable beach in Broome. “Toto rather likes the idea of a walk around the Lodge grounds, which is big – we call it an oval if it was in Marrickville,” Mr Albanese said."I will be on leave next week, travelling in Australia, having a bit of a break – the first break I've had this year," he told ABC Melbourne on August 5. Mr Albanese also took a swipe at his predecessor Scott Morrison, who was heavily criticised for holidaying in Hawaii during the 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires.
