Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has agreed to join US President Joe Biden's newly formed trade initiative with 12 other nations to counter China's expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Biden Administration will hope the economic bloc, which includes Asian powerhouses such as Japan, India and South Korea, will allow America to reassert its dominance back in the region that has been influenced by Beijing.
