The man accused of killing Ballarat mum Samantha Murphy has pleaded not guilty to murder, as he was committed to stand trial in Victoria's Supreme Court.
Mr Stephenson fronted Ballarat Magistrates Court via video link for a committal mention on Thursday, wearing a light grey tshirt and appearing almost unrecognisable with long hair and a beard. Prosecutor Raymond Gibson KC told the court Mr Stephenson had elected to stand trial and fast-track his case to the Supreme Court.
